On Saturday, October 8 at 17:00 – 20:00 the Museum of Contemporary Art of Crete, as part of the parallel actions of its Education Sector – Art Workshops, organised the artistic action “Dreaming of a city of joy, mobility and access” as part of the events for “Wheeling2Help” on Mikrasiaton Square, aimed at purchasing five wheelchairs for the city of Rethymnon.

“Wheeling2Help” is a non-profit organisation under the auspices of the Hellenic Paralympics Committee. It has organised a 32-day, 1,700km bicycle run through 20 Greek cities, from Constantinople to Herakleion, with the aim of conveying a message of love and solidarity for disabled children. The specific action is meant to collect donations for the purchase of 5 wheelchairs per city through the internet platform www.giveandfund.com/giveandfund/project/wh

The penultimate stage of this action was Rethymnon, where a 3-hour event was organised under the auspices of the City with a rich programme of entertainment and information by the participating institutions, at the same time giving everyone the opportunity to share the joy of practising sports and expressing themselves through dance and artistic creation.

The artistic event was implemented by museum educator Sophia Trouli.
